Day 1: Pick up in Kigali and transfer to Congo – Goma
Depending on your location in Kigali or on arrival at Kigali airport before 7 am, you will meet our company representative and embark on your drive to Gisenyi – Goma border where you will meet our Congo safari guide then drive to report Grande Barrier – Tourism office where you need to report by 11 am. Have lunch then later be transferred to the camp where you will spend a night as you wait for the next day activity. Dinner and overnight in Kibumba Tented Camp
Day 2: Gorilla trekking – Virunga national park
Breakfast will be served quite very early from your camp. Thereafter you will head to meet your ranger guides with your trekking gears. You will have a briefing about the experience before you enter the forest to start trekking. Gorilla trekking usually takes 1-3 hours hiking up and down the forest in search of the gorillas however the time taken to find them will depend their location. On finding them, you will be given a maximum of 1 hour in the presence of the gorilla family found. Thereafter, find your way back to the starting to return to your camp. Enjoy late lunch and spend your evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at camp as above
Day 3: Return to Kigali – Rwanda
Wake up, have a delicious breakfast, check-out of the camp and embark on your journey to Goma border, go through the immigration then cross to Gisenyi where you will meet your Rwanda guide to transfer you Kigali, it’s a 4-5 hours’ drive from Gisenyi to Kigali with en-route lunch. Your drop off location will depend on your departure schedule.
