This 3 days mount Sabinyo hiking safari will take you to Mgahinga gorilla national park in southwestern Uganda where you will climb mount Sabinyo one of the mountains within the Virunga ranges. Mount Sabinyo is a dormant volcano that stands at an elevation of 3645 meters above the sea level and its slopes harbor different wildlife species such as elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, bird species among others. When you reach at the summit of the mountain you will be standing in three countries that is Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Day 1 of the 3 days mount Sabinyo hiking safari
Arrival and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park, depending on the time of arrival at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the 3 days mount Sabinyo hiking safari you will be welcomed by our driver guide and then start the journey to Mgahinga gorilla national park in southwestern Uganda. It’s a whole day journey to the park and on your way you will have en-route lunch at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara and scenic views of the Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, beautiful landscape, local people among others. Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Climb to the summit of mount Sabinyo
Climbing mount Sabinyo, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days mount Sabinyo hiking safari you will carry lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the starting point for a briefing about the safety, guidelines and what to carry during hiking the volcanic mountain. Climbing mount Sabinyo is a one day hike that takes around 8 hours round trek depending on the groups pace and during climbing you will use handmade ladders at steep altitudes, pass through different vegetation zones like bamboo, forest patch, sub-alpine zone among others. during hiking you will have an opportunity to take beautiful photos and have spectacular views of primate species like golden monkeys and gorillas if you are lucky, mammals such as forest elephants, buffaloes, bird species like Rwenzori turaco, archers robin chat, black kite, grey capped warbler, olive woodpecker, speckled mouse bird, double collared sunbird, handsome francolin among others. When you reach at the summit you will get a chance of being at the meeting point of three countries which include Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. After the great views at the summit you will start descending down to the starting point which takes about 4 hours and upon arrival you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 3 days mount Sabinyo hiking safari you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and another stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take beautiful pictures and buy souvenirs like art crafts, paintings among others. From the Equator you will continue the journey to Kampala and your driver guide will either drop you off at Entebbe international airport in case you have a flight to catch or drop off at any place of convenience.
