Detailed itinerary
Day 1 of the 3 days Uganda chimpanzee habituation safari
Arrival and transfer to Kibale national park, upon arrival at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the 3 days Uganda chimpanzee habituation safari you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale national park in western Uganda. The journey takes about 5 hours drive and on the way you will have great scenic views of tea plantations and a stopover in Fort Portal town for lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale national park
Chimpanzee habituation experience, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Uganda chimpanzee habituation tour you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to go for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla habituation. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle with a team of researchers, scientists, chimpanzee doctors, park rangers and guides. During trekking you will be able to spot other wildlife species such as forest elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, view other primates like chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, different plants, bird species among others.
Once the chimpanzees under habituation are found you will be allowed to spend 4 hours with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them feeding, resting, breastfeeding, fighting, grooming each other, learn more about their behaviors, take some incredible photos and record the moments with a flash less camera. The activity takes a full day or half day depending on where the chimpanzees are located because they are mobile and like to move from one place to another in search of food. After the interesting moment with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters, meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Bigodi swamp walk and departure to Kampala
Bigodi swamp walk, after breakfast on the last day of the 3 days Uganda chimpanzee habituation safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a swamp walk in Bigodi wetland. The swamp walk takes about three hours and offers you great views of bird species like the great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, spotted barbet, blue breasted kingfisher, black bee-eater, little greenbul, black bishop, western nictor, primate species like red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, view different plant and tree species, colorful butterflies among others.

Departure to Kampala, After the Bigodi swamp walk you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. You will have en-route lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre and then proceed the journey to Kampala and upon arrival you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight or dropped at the hotel.
