The 3 days Uganda luxury gorilla trekking safari is an extra ordinary safari which will take you to the misty Bwindi impenetrable national park which is located in southwestern Uganda shred among the districts of  Kanungu, Kabale and Kisoro district. The national park harbors half of the world’s mountain gorillas which make it the most visited gorilla destination in Africa. Bwindi impenetrable national park is a home of 19 habituated gorilla families which are found in four sectors including Ruhija, Nkuringo, Rushaga and Buhoma sectors. While in Bwindi impenetrable national park you will have a face to face encounter with the gentle giants in the forest where you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you thrilling and unforgettable experiences.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 3 days luxury  Uganda gorilla trekking safari

Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest, on the first day of your 3 days Uganda luxury gorilla trekking safari, you will be welcome by our driver guide who will give you a short briefing about your safari. In case you want to fly to Bwindi impenetrable national park there are domestic flights like Aerolink which operate scheduled and charter flights from Entebbe airport to Kihihi airstrip and the flights take about one hour. If you want to use road transport our driver guide will pick you up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park via Masaka with a stopover at Igongo cultural Centre for lunch.

After lunch you will continue the journey via Kabale and then to the park which takes about 8 to 9 hours’ drive. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

You will wake up, have breakfast on the second day of your 3 days Uganda luxury gorilla trekking safari, carry your packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations during gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people and allocated a gorilla family to trek, grouping of individuals is however done according to age, physical fitness and personal preferences so that visitors who are not physically fit are allocated a gorilla group that is near to trek.

You will also be allocated a park guide who is well conversant with the gorilla families and the trails in the jungle and then start trekking. Gorilla trekking in the park takes 30 minutes to 7 hours and during trekking you will pass through the thick forest where you will view other primates like the l’hoest monkeys, baboons, bird species, plant species among others. When the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity of learning about their lifestyle, habits, behaviors, taking photos and recording the moments. After the one hour encounter you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Departure to Kampala

On the last day of your 3 days  luxury gorilla trekking safari, you will wake up, have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. You will pass via Kabale town, Ntungamo and then Mbarara town where you will have a stopover for lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey and have another stop over at the equator for photos and in case you want to buy some souvenirs there are various craft shops where you can buy art crafts, art pieces among others.  From the equator you will continue to Kampala and your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your next flight or at any place of convenience.
