4 Days Bwindi Gorilla and Lake Bunyonyi
Want to trek gorillas and rest at Lake Bunyonyi after? This 4 days Bwindi Gorilla and Lake Bunyonyi safari package was designed to offer such an experience.
Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to Bwindi forest
Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be met by our tour guide/driver who will transfer you to Bwindi forest in Kisoro district. En route the equator and lunch in Mbarara town. It’s a 7-8 hours’ drive so you will arrive at the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. After briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. On finding them, you will spend 1 hour with these gentle giants.
Return to the starting point where you will find your driver waiting to take you back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 3: All day at Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early, have breakfast and connect to Lake Bunyonyi in kabale district. This is a 2 hours drive. Arrive at Bunyonyi early and with great scenic views of surrounding hills. This lake located between Kisoro and Kabale in the southwestern Uganda close to the border with Rwanda. It’s believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa with the depth between 44m and 900m deep and its about 7 to 25kms wide.
On arrival at the lake, have lunch then take a boat trip to some of the fascination islands on the lake like the Kyahugye island like the kyahugye island where you will find some wildlife including the Zebras, waterbucks, impalas and kobs. Visit Akampeine island-a punishment island where the pregnant unmarried girls were dumped to die and finally the Bwama and Njuyeera Island-where missionary Dr.Leonard Sharp founded a leper colony. Return in the evening at the lodge to relax and chill. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
After early morning breakfast, you will depart the lodge and head back to Kampala, 7-8 hours drive with en route lunch in Mbarara. Arrive Kampala late afternoon and if you have an ongoing flight, you will proceed to Entebbe airport.
