This 4 days Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo park safari is an interesting safari that takes you to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda located in southwestern region and rich in biodiversity with wildlife species like the big four mammals which include elephant, buffaloes, lions, leopards, other animals like the waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, bird species among others.
You will also be able to visit Lake Mburo national park which is one of the small national parks in Uganda but rich is biodiversity. While in Lake Mburo national park you will view animals like buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, impala, elands, oribi and bird species like the elusive shoe bill stork and many others.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1 of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national park
Depending on your location our drive guide will pick you up for the 4 days Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national park, brief you about your safari and then start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. On your way you will pass via Mubende and Fort Portal where you will have lunch.
After lunch you will continue to the Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have an evening game drive. during the game drive you will get an opportunity of viewing various animals in the park such as the elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, waterbucks and some bird species like the saddle billed stork, squaco heron, knob billed duck, African jacana, yellow wagtail among others. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge, check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive/lion tracking and afternoon Boat cruise
Wake up on hearty breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kasenyi plains for the morning game drive/ lion tracking.
During the game drive you will have an opportunity of viewing various animal species such as the leopards, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bush pigs, and various bird species such as the papyrus gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, white winged warbler among others. The game drive takes about 4 to 5 hours where after you will drive to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer for the afternoon boat cruise. The boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park is done on Kazinga channel a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward.
The boat ride is an exciting and adventurous activity that starts at around 2:00pm at and takes about 2 hours. during the boat cruise you will be able to cruise close to the animals such as elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks among others which will be along the shores drinking water, hippos and Nile crocodiles in water and various water birds such as martial eagle, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others.
After the boat cruise you will drive to Lake Katwe the salt lake which was formed through volcanic eruption many years ago. During the Lake Katwe tour, you will be able to see the local people extracting rock salt from the main lake to the landing area for sell. From Lake Katwe you will also visit Lake Munyanyange which is 2kms away from Lake Katwe where you will be able to see different bird species such as the flamingos, pied avocet, black winged stilt, black terns, sea gulls among others. After the crater lakes tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
You will wake up, have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Mburo national park which is located in Mbarara district. On the way you will pass via Mbarara road and the journey takes about 4 hours’ drive. Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and go for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo which starts at around 2:00pm. the boat ride is an amazing activity in the park which gives you an opportunity to view various wildlife species including plants, animals like hippos and crocodiles which will be in water and other animals like the buffaloes, antelopes on the water banks, bird species like the African fish eagle, blue breasted kingfisher, southern ground hornbill, papyrus Gonolek, blue headed coucal among others. After the boat ride you will drive to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game drive and departure
This is the last day of your safari. Wake up have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide for the morning game drive.
The game drive is one of the major activities in the park where you follow various tracks such as the zebra track which offers great scenic views of animals like the zebras, giraffes, bushbucks, warthogs, impala, topi, eland, hyenas, giant forest hogs among others along the road.
After the game drive you will drive out of the park through the Nshara gate and start your journey to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover at the equator for lunch and also get an opportunity to take photos and buy souvenirs like crafts, art pieces among others from the craft shops.
After lunch you will continue the journey to Kampala where your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport in case you have a flight to catch or at any place of convenience.
