The safari will take you to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will participate in gorilla trekking which will give you an opportunity to meet with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will also visit Kibale national park which is located in southern part of Uganda and participate in chimpanzee trekking which will give you unforgettable moments on your safari.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1 of the 5 days gorillas and chimpanzee trekking safari from Kigali
Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park, depending on the time of arrival on the first day of your 5 days gorillas and chimpanzee trekking safari you will be welcomed by our driver guide at Kigali international airport. The driver guide will brief you about your safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park through Cyanika border in Kisoro. The journey takes 3 to 4 hours drive with great views of the rolling hills in Rwanda, landscape, beautiful scenery, homesteads among others. You will have en-route lunch on the way and upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking, you will have an early breakfast on the second day of your 5 days gorillas and chimpanzee trekking safari from Kigali, carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people allocated a gorilla group tp trek and a park guide who is well conversant with the trails in the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park starts at about 8:00am and takes 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat learning about their lifestyle, behaviors, habits, take photos and record videos.
After the one hour encounter with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. You will later meet up with your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
On the third day of your 5 days gorillas and chimpanzee trekking safari from Kigali you will have breakfast in the morning, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale national park. On the way you will pass via Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park where you will view the tree climbing lions lying up in the fig, acacia tree branches staring on the antelopes grazing in the open savannah vegetation. After the game drive in Ishasha sector you will have en-route lunch and then continue with the journey to Kibale national park. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge. Have dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
Chimpanzee trekking, after an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 5 days gorillas and chimpanzee trekking safari from Kigali you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to Kanyachu visitors centre for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be allocated a chimpanzee group to trek and a park guide who will be sharing information about the chimpanzees and also lead you to where the chimpanzees are.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees because they like to move from one place to another in search of food and once they are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat. During the one hour you will get an opportunity of learning about their habits, behaviors, take photos and record the moments. After the one hour encounter with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for lunch.
Bigodi swamp walk, after lunch you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi swamp where you will have great views of wildlife species including primates like baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, animals like bush pigs, otters, Sitatunga, bushbucks and bird species like the great blue turaco, papyrus Gonolek, white winged warbler, plant and tree species, butterflies and among others. During the nature walk you will enjoy the cool breeze, breath fresh air and listen to the sweet sounds of birds singing in the trees. After the nature walk you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of your 5 days gorillas and chimpanzee trekking safari from Kigali you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up to transfer to Kampala. On your way you will have en-route lunch and a stopover at the Equator where you will take photos and buy some souvenirs, craft items like art pieces, bags, sandals among others. From the equator you will continue with the journey to Kampala where you will reach early evening and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you at Entebbe airport in case you have a flight to catch or at any place of convenience.
