Day 1: Pick up and transfer for Murchison Falls National Park

Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be picked up and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park-Uganda’s largest national park. The park is a habitat for big 4 game including elephants, buffaloes, lions and leopards. However you will have a stopover for about 2 to 3 hours at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. Have lunch then proceed to the home of the magnificent falls, adding you 2 more hours to arrive at the park. Upon arrival at the park late afternoon, connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise at the bottom of the falls

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a morning game drive on the Northern Bank of the park. The activity takes about 3-5 hours and be able to view variety of wildlife including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, go for a launch cruise on the Nile with exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants and bee-eater.

After viewing the falls at the bottomyou can have an optional hike to the top of falls through Bakers trail and also be able to stand at bakers stone -bringing you closer to the bottom of the falls, this hike is a bit tuff but it’s fascinating as you will enjoy to see the falls at different points and finally when you reach at the top of the falls, you will be amazed and eventually forget about the tuff hike. After spending a good time at the top of the falls, you will meet your driver who will transfer you back to your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park 

Depart Murchison early after breakfast and transfer Kibale national park, it’s a full day hours’ drive to Fort portal with en route lunch. Kibale Forest National Park is the best safari destinations in Africa with 13 species of primate where chimpanzees are the most visited. Arrive at the lodge late afternoon and unwind, have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and nature walk.

Have early breakfast and transfer to the park head office for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees and later enter the forest with the guidance of a park ranger along with your tracking gears, packed water and snacks. This tracking takes about 2-5 hours in search of the chimpanzees. On finding the primates, you will spend 1 hour with the creatures while studying their behavior and taking pictures. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and refresh.

Later afternoon, connect for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland, where you will get to enjoy walking through a wetland with a variety of bird species. Later in the evening return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at as above

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast, meet your driver to depart for Bwindi, you will first connect for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park in search of the tree climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi arriving late afternoon at the lodge where you will check-in, have dinner and spend a night.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking experience.

You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. After briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. On finding them, you will spend 1 hour with these gentle giants.

Return to the starting point where you will find your driver waiting to take you back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 7: All day at Lake Bunyonyi.

Wake up early, have breakfast and connect to Lake Bunyonyi in kabale district. This is a 2 hours drive. Arrive at Bunyonyi early and with great scenic views of surrounding hills. This lake located between Kisoro and Kabale in the southwestern Uganda close to the border with Rwanda. It’s believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa with the depth between 44m and 900m deep and its about 7 to 25kms wide.

On arrival at the lake, have lunch then take a boat trip to some of the fascination islands on the lake like the Kyahugye island like the kyahugye island where you will find some wildlife including the Zebras, waterbucks, impalas and kobs. Visit Akampeine island-a punishment island where the pregnant unmarried girls were dumped to die and finally the Bwama and Njuyeera Island-where missionary Dr.Leonard Sharp founded a leper colony. Return in the evening at the lodge to relax and chill. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 8: Transfer back to Kampala. 

After early morning breakfast, you will depart the lodge and head back to Kampala, 7-8 hours drive with en route lunch in Mbarara. Arrive Kampala late afternoon and if you have an ongoing flight, you will proceed to Entebbe airport.  End of Safari
