Samburu Sopa Lodge is a luxury accommodation (5-star) found in the Northern Kenya inside Samburu national park blessed with wildlife abundance. The lodge has an attractive and spectacular view of the distant hill and Mount Kenya. You can be at the lodge either by road or air transport. It takes 350km i.e. a 6hr drive from Nairobi to the lodge and 50 minutes flight from the new Oryx airstrip in Samburu, and a 10 minutes drive from the airstrip to the lodge. Sopa lodges have different branches in Kenya and Tanzania.
Samburu National Park is among the less-known national parks in Kenya and the smallest park found in the northern part near Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya in Samburu country. The park occupies a total area of 165 square km and 350 km from Nairobi. Samburu country is found in the former rift valley of Kenya. The park is the home of various animals over 200 mammals like; Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elephants, Big cats, leopards, lions, zebras Warthogs, olive baboons, etc and 390 species of birds which include; Sunbirds, bee-eaters, sunbirds, Tawny Eagles, Grey headed kingfisher, Yellow-billed hornbill, and many more birds. Samburu Sopa lodge consists of 60 well-spaced luxury cottages reflecting the local building style with grass-thatched roof, mosquito nets, hair driers, and private wooden balconies and sitting areas, you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the distant hills and Mount Kenya. En-suite bathrooms rooms offer flushing toilets, bath tabs/ shower with hot and cold running water. Rooms are well decorated and furnished with queen-sized beds. Rooms are well equipped with Satellite, TVs, extinguishers and other facilities. The rooms are equipped with excellent and comfortable beddings. There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors during nights at the lodges.
