Kyangabi Crater Resort
Kyangabi Crater Resort is a new mid-range accommodation located in Kicwamba – Rubirizi District, in Queen Elizabeth national park. It takes approximately 10 km to reach Kyambura Gorge from the lodge (a 10-minute drive), where chimpanzee trekking takes place, which is just near the tracking headquarters, 50 km from Kasese town and 8.9 miles from Kazinga Channel.
It takes 5–6 hours (370 km) to drive from Kampala City to the lodge, or Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Kyangabi crater resort is comprised of 32 beautiful rooms built in modernized styles, well designed to meet guests’ personal fondness. Rooms are well furnished and decorated with mosquito nets, air conditioning, satellites, TVs, dryers, and other facilities.
Rooms contain en suite facilities like flushing toilets and hot and cold showers. Each room has sitting areas, terraces, and balconies that give a panoramic view of the park and surrounding areas. The Lodge has excellent and comfortable bedding with a king-sized bed.
Rooms vary in different sizes and different categories: deluxe, standard, and Executive in single, double, twin and family cottages. The rooms cost 200$ and above per night per person.

They also serve dinners in the bush. The swimming pool features both adult and kids’ areas, providing a refreshing escape from the hot Queen Elizabeth afternoons. It includes a well-stocked pool bar offering hard and soft drinks, such as beers, wines, and sodas. Queen Elizabeth national park is the second-largest and most visited national park found in western Uganda near the historical town of Fort portal in the districts of Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. The park occupies a total area of 987 km squared. The park extends from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-west and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It’s the wide channel in Uganda with 32 kilometers in length.
There are different accommodations in Queen Elizabeth National Park: budget, midrange, and luxury. The park has a variety of flora and fauna over 100 mammals and 612 species of bird, which attract more tourists.
