Kingfisher lodge is a mid-range accommodation (3 star) found in western part of Uganda in kicwamba escarpment ,outside/adjacent Queen Elizabeth national park. The lodge is situated along Mbarara –Kasese road and it is 250 meters away from queen Elizabeth park . The lodge is set on 15 hectares of land scape that offers fantastic views of the park , Mountain Rwenzori along with kazinga channel . The lodge is in the perfect place for guests tracking chimpanzees since its close to Karinzu forest . One can be at the lodge by road which takes approximately 5-6 hours (370km) drive from kampala to queen Elizabeth national park and an hour while flying from Entebbe international Airport to Kasese airstrip. King fisher lodge is comprised of 25 beautiful designed and comfortable Bandas built in African traditional art with grass thatched roof, local woods and modern comfort . Rooms are well furnished and decorated to meet guest’s personal fondness with mosquito nets , air conditioning , satellites, Flat screen TV’s , driers , and other facilities. Rooms contain en suite facilities like ; flushing toilets , hot and cold showers. Each room have sitting areas ,terraces and private balconies that gives a panoramic view of the park, lake Edward and George and other surrounding areas. The Lodge has excellent and comfortable beddings with king sized bed and 16 of the bandas have the view of the park . There are fireplace at the lodge that provides warmth during cold periods to guests staying there . Rooms varies in different sizes and categories; deluxe, standard , Executive in Singles, double ,twin and family cottages. Rooms cost 200$ and above per night per person, sometimes the rate go high during high/peak season than in low season

Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest and most visited national park found in western Uganda near historical town of Fort portal (Tourism city) in districts of Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi and Rukungiri. The park occupies the total area of 987 km squared .The park extends from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-west and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It’s the wide channel in Uganda with 32 kilometers long. There are different accommodations in Queen Elizabeth national park; budget ,mid range and luxury accommodations. . The park has the variety of flora and fauna over 100 mammals and 612 species of bird which attract more tourists.
