NKima Forest lodge is a mid- range accommodation found on Nansubuga hill in the Indigenous forest overlooking Mabamba wetland. The lodge is on its own patch, set on 40 acres of landscape, on top of the hill surrounded by Forest and open grassland. The wetland bay is famous for birding especially shoebill tracking. The best way to Reach Mabamba swamp is by Boat across lake Victoria .It takes approximately an hour and half drive from Entebbe via Nakiwogo landing site where you take 10 minutes ferry crossing to Kasanje landing site / 2-3 hours from Kampala . The lodge is convenient and perfect for safari adventures to tourists and travellers who want to do Birding and other activities in Mabamba swamp.
Nkima Forest lodge consists of 6 spaious and comfortable of which four are double rooms and 2 family rooms overlooking Mabamba wetland and the forest that reflects traditional building style with modern comfort. Rooms are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities with flushing toilets, bathroom with hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, comfortable beds with clean beddings, free toiletries, complimentary bottled water ,extinqishers , white pillows and sheets, slippers,chairs to mention But a few. Mamba swamp is a wetland situated in the west of Entebbe on the northern shores of Lake Victoria about 57km From the kampala City center, Uganda region. The swamp covers the total area of 16,500 hectare with thick marshes of Papyrus, water Lilies and other wetland grasses. The wetland is the home of over 300 bird species that include; Shoe bills, Black Egret, goliath heron, orange weaver, Black Crake, lesser Jacana and many more. The swamp bay is famous for birding/bird watching activity since it has a lot of Bird species especially shoebills.
