Bukima tented camp is a mid-range accommodation found outside Virunga national park and near one of the starting points of gorilla trekking in the park. The camp was built for researchers. You can either be at the camp by road or by air transport. The camp is situated in Bukima. Its a 10 minutes walk from the park to the camp and just 2 hours from Goma and 1.5 hr from Mikeno lodge. The camp is convenient and friendly to guests staying in Virunga for Gorilla trekking since it is near the starting point of the trek.

Congo has 19 different bird species which enables birding/Bird watching to take place. Gorillas eat roots, leaves, tree backs and pulps. Virunga park has 8 gorilla groups and all are habituated and ready for trekking. Gorilla permits in Virunga National Park are at 400$ per person. The park (Virunga) encourages more tourists because of more mountain gorillas.
Bukima tented camp consists of 8 beautiful tents with private suite facilities like flushing toilets and hot Bucket showers, Rooms are in different categories; single, doubles, twins and triple rooms. The rooms cost 160$ and above per night. Rooms have a spacious king-sized bed with clean and washed beddings. Some rooms have verandas where you relax and enjoy the surrounding areas and Nyiragongo Volcanoes. Some rooms offer campfires that provide warmth to guests during the night. Camping can be done while at the camp.
