Engiri game lodge is a budget accommodation situated in katunguru in the heart of Queen Elizabeth national park. You can access the lodge just about 6-7 hours drive (410km) from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park and its 1.1 miles from Kazinga Channel to the lodge. The Lodge is friendly and convenient to Budget guests with stunning view visiting the park
Engiri game lodge consists of 12 spacious and comfortable rooms in Volcanic Huts built in traditional styles with Grass thatched roofs that are well decorated and furnished with modern comfort. The lodge has tents and rooms. Rooms have private en suite facilities like Flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/bathtub, TV’s, mosquito nets, satellite, solar energy available, chairs and private balconies, verandas, and sitting areas, you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the lake, animals visiting the lodge and surrounding area. Rooms are well equipped with Satellite, TVs, extinguishers and other facilities with comfortable clean beddings and ceiling fans. There are campfires at the lodge that provides warmth during the night to visitors staying at the lodges. Rooms/tents are in different categories; single ,double ,twin and triple/family rooms /Tents . They cost 90$ per night and above and in High season the rate is slightly high than in Low season.
Engiri game lodge offers more services and facilities which include; A restaurant that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meets guests appetite breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the main building by well trained, friendly and organized staff, they also serve bush dinners, a well-stocked bar with variety of drinks, local, cocktail, wines, spirits, and international beers, you relax and sip the cocktail or monktail while overlooking the stunning view of the lake and the park, Free parking space available, Laundry services available, WIFI available at the lodge in the main building that enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends, camping facilities available, airport pickups and drop-offs, Excellent and comfortable clean beddings, Craft shop available at the lodge with more African style gifts like shoes, safari essentials, Guides book, etc
Queen Elizabeth national park is also among the most visited park situated in the western part of Uganda close to Fort Portal the Historical Town in Districts of Rubirizi, Kamwengye, Rukungyiri, and Kasese. The park covers the total area of 1,978 KM squared with 32 km occupied by Kazinga Channel which links lake Edward and Lake George and other features in the park. The park contains over 200 species of mammals and it’s the home of the tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector including Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes, Impalas, zebras, etc in Kasenyi sector and over 600 bird species like; water birds, savannah birds, etc.
The park has different accommodations like; Budget, mid-range and luxury accommodation that are convenient and friendly to guests visiting the park. There are different activities to do while in the park include; Game drive in Kasenyi sector, you spot different mammal species since the park has more animals, Boat cruise/Launch cruise along the kazinga channel that gives the exciting stunning view and enables guests to spot different aquatic animals like Hippos, Crocodiles at the river banks, water birds, etc, chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura, Bird watching /Birding since the park has many bird species, Nature and forest walks, fishing at Lake Edward, community visits to the local villages that encourages cultural experience, traditional dances, coffee plantations, crater lakes visit mention but a few.
