Kitani safari lodge
Kitani safari lodge is a mid-range accommodation found in the centre of Tsavo west national park. One can use road transport from Nairobi International airport since it’s the gateway destination to a different national park in Kenya which takes approximately 7 hours drive ( 339 Km) from Nairobi to the park and also air transport from Nairobi which takes 2 hours to fly to Tsavo airstrip as the nearest airstrip. The lodge is convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park with its beautiful view of the park and surrounding area.
Kitani safari lodge contains ten beautiful and comfortable en suite rooms, that are built in traditional African style with Grass thatched roofs and modern comfort. Rooms are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/Bathtubs, mosquito nets, hair driers , terraces and sitting areas ,you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the savannah grassland and surrounding area . Rooms are well equipped with Satellite , TVs, extinguishers with comfortable clean beddings and ceiling fans. There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors staying at the lodges. Rooms are in different categories like ; single ,double ,twin and triple/family rooms and room cost 250$ per night and above . Note that in High season the rate goes slightly high than in Low season.
Kitani lodge offers more services and facilities which include; A restaurant that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meets guests choice; breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the main building served by well trained, friendly and organized staff ,they also serve bush diners , a well stocked bar/lounge with a variety of drinks, local, cocktail, wines, spirits and international beer , you relax and sip the cocktail or monk tail while overlooking the spectacular view of the savannah, the park and surrounding area , Free parking space available, offer airport pick-ups and drop-offs, Laundry services available, WIFI available in the rooms that enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends, business centers like conferences, meeting places, honeymoon packages, etc. , Excellent and comfortable clean beddings, Craft shop available at the hotel with more African style gifts like shoes, safari essentials.
Tsavo national park is comprised of two separate parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa, The park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared. The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi-arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared. The Two park are most visited with different categories of accommodations; Budget, Mid-range, and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park. Tsavo national park has a variety of wildlife like; Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras, Leopards, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Lions Etc and over 500 species of birds like; ostriches, starling, weaver birds, Kingfishers, hornbills, etc. There are more activities to do while in the park and at the lodge which include, game drive in the park which enables you to spot different animals in the park and the buffaloes visiting the lodge, nature walks in the park, Hot air balloon rides that give a good view of the Savannah plains at 450$ per person, handcraft safaris, Camping, Flying safaris, cultural visits in the villages, Farm visits, Horseback riding in the park, Bird watching/Birding since the park has more species bird, the watchers can’t be disappointed, Nature walks etc. The park has some other attractions like; Olduvai Gorge, Moru Kopjes, Grumeti river, and seronero rivers.
