Mabamba Lodge is a 3-star mid-range accommodation situated in Nzziba village, Mabamba, Wakiso district, on the shores of Lake Victoria and overlooking Mabamba Swamp, Uganda region. The lodge is set close to Nkima Forest, surrounded by beautiful thick green vegetation, rolling hills, a forest, and the prime birding territory of Mabamba Wetland. The wetland bay is famous for birding, especially shoebill tracking, since it’s the home of more endemic water birds. The best way to reach Mabamba Swamp is by boat across Lake Victoria. It takes approximately an hour and a half to drive from Entebbe via the Nakiwogo landing site, where you take a 10-minute ferry crossing to the Kasanje landing site, or 2-3 hours from Kampala. The lodge is convenient and perfect for safari adventures for tourists and travelers who want to do birding and other activities in Mabamba Swamp.

Mabamba Lodge consists of over five spacious and comfortable cottages suitable for individual as well as family accommodations overlooking Mabamba Wetland and the Forest that reflect traditional building style with modern comfort. Mamba Swamp is a wetland situated in the west of Entebbe on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, about 57km from the Kampala city center in wakiso district of the Uganda region. The swamp covers a total area of 16,500 hectares with thick marshes of papyrus, water lilies, and other wetland grasses. The wetland is the home of over 300 bird species that include: shoebill, black egret, goliath heron, orange weaver, black crake, lesser jacana, and many more. The swamp bay is famous for birding and bird-watching activities since it has a lot of bird species, especially shoebills.
