Man Eaters Camp – Tsavo National Park
Man Eaters Camp is a luxury tented accommodation found in the middle of Tsavo national park on the Banks tsavo river. Its just one km from the main highway connecting Nairobi city and Mombasa. There were more man eaters in the park hence the name of the camp. One can use road transport from Nairobi International airport since it’s the gateway destination to different national park in Kenya which takes approximately 7 hours drive ( 339 Km) from Nairobi to the park and also air transport from Nairobi which takes 2 hours to fly to Tsavo airstrip as the nearest airstrip. The lodge is convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park with its beautiful view of the Tsavo river , park and surrounding area.
Man eaters camp contains thirty one (31) beautiful and luxurious tents that are built in traditional African style with Grass thatched roofs and modern comfort. Tents are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/Bathtubs, mosquito nets, hair driers, and private wooden balconies, terraces and sitting areas ,you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the Tsavo river , park and surrounding area. Rooms are well equipped with Satellite , TVs, extinguishers with comfortable clean beddings with king and queen-sized beds and ceiling fans. There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors staying at the lodges. Rooms are in different categories like ; single ,double ,twin and triple/family rooms and room cost 300$ per night and above . Note that in High season the rate goes slightly high than in Low season.
Man eaters camp offers more services and facilities which include; A restaurant in the main bulding that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meets guests choice ; breakfast ,lunch and dinner served by well trained, friendly and organized staff ,they also serve bush diners , a well stocked bar/lounge with variety of drinks , local ,cocktail , wines, spirits and international beers, a blue water swimming pool that cools off the hot afternoon of Tsavo with a pool bar, you relax in water and sip the cocktail or monk tail while overlooking the spectacular view of the park , Tsavo river and surrounding area , Free parking space available, offers airport pick -ups and drop-offs, Laundry services available , WIFI available in the rooms that enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends, business centers like conferences , meeting places ,honey moon packages etc. Healthy and fitness centers like ;Spa , Gym, massage ,steam bath , Excellent and comfortable clean beddings, Craft shop available at the hotel with more African style gifts like shoes, safari essentials.
Tsavo national park is made of two separate parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa , The park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared . The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared . The Two park are most visited with different categories of accommodations ; Budget , Mid range and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park. Tsavo national park has a variety of wildlife like; Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras , Leopards, Giraffes , Cheetahs, Lions Mention but a few and over 500 species of birds which include; ostriches, starling , weaver birds, Kingfishers, hornbills etc. There are more activities to do while in the park and at the lodge which include; game drive in the park which enables you to spot different animals in the park and the lions visiting the camp , nature walks in the park, Hot air balloon rides that gives good view of the Savannah plains at 450$ per person , hand craft safaris, Camping ,Flying safaris, cultural visits in the villages, Farm visits , Horseback riding in the park, Bird watching/Birding since the park has more species bird ,the w atchers cant be disappointed, Nature walks etc. The park has some other attractions like; Rolling rock , Mzima springs, safaris Moru Kopjes, Tsavo river and many others.
