Notes;
Carry comfortable rubber hiking shoes which will not challenge you in hiking. Endeavor to pack lots of cotton socks which will help you each day through putting on fresh dry socks in the morning. Another options, you can wear the running shoes together with one pair of dry each day. Some people like wearing gum boots which must be rubber boots covering three quarter of the lower parts of the legs up to knee’’. We advise you never to wear vibram soled hiking boots if you visit the park when the ground is really wet and slippery and the vibram soles are too stiff and hard to walk hold on the wet moss and rocks. If you done with day activity –hiking and get back to the camp you can wear sandals except at some huts but sandals might be too cold alternative to most of people. Otherwise, they should bring something comfortable and lightweights. Hiking to the summit, the client will need a good pair of mountain boots that can fit crampons.
Rwenzori climbing fees involves in; 2 porters per person, guide, park fees, rescue and accommodation, mattresses, food and gas cooker. And one cook is made of each group of 4 people, porters have to take a maximum of 25kilometers per climber, transport to and from the Rwenzori. But climbing fees does not include costs of climbing equipment and sleeping bags which climbers have to come with their own. How to get to Rwenzori Mountain by Air or by Car?
Travel by car
From Kampala via Mubende to Fort portal it takes about 300 kilometers in about 4hours.
From Kampala via Masaka –Mbarara –Busenyi to Kasese covers about 350kilomter in 6 hours.
By Air
You can use chartered plane which can be arranged and takes only 30 minutes to land to Kasese airstrip from where visitors can be able to drive a short journey to the park.
Location; Rwenzori Mountain is located in kasese district in western Uganda region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was established in 1991.The park sits on an area of about 998 square kilometers and above.
