Mountain Gorilla Nest Lodge
Mountain Gorilla Nest Lodge is a mid-range accommodation (3-star) found in the Musanze district, Northern Rwanda, in Rwanda, next to Volcanoes National Park. The lodge is situated in a forest of eucalyptus trees with the beautiful views of Rwanda’s hills and the park. One can either be at the lodge by road transport from Kigali International Airport, which takes approximately 2-3 hours to drive to the park, or it takes 40 minutes to fly from Kigali to the hotel. The lodge is convenient and friendly to guests visiting the northern part of Rwanda and the Volcanoes National Park with its great views of the mountains and memorable experience.
The mountain gorilla nest lodge is comprised of 40 beautiful and elegant rooms that reflect African traditional building style with local stones and modern comfort.
Rooms are well furnished and decorated with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/bathtubs, mosquito nets, hair dryers, flat-screen TVs, and satellites, with private balconies, sitting areas, and terraces and verandas.
You relax while overlooking the spectacular views of the Virunga volcanoes and surrounding areas. Rooms have excellent facilities with clean and washed beddings. There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors in the nights and coldness. Rooms vary in different sizes and categories: singles, doubles, twins, and triple/family rooms. Rooms cost $200 per person per night and above, and rates always go high when it’s peak season.
Mountain Gorilla Nest Lodge offers different services and facilities, which include; A restaurant that serves different meals, both international and African, that meet guests’ choices; breakfast in the gardens and lunch and dinner in the main building served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff; they also serve garden diners; a well-stocked bar/lounge with a variety of local, cocktail, wine, spirits and international beers; you relax and sip the cocktail or monk tail while overlooking the spectacular view of Virunga volcanoes, distant mountains and surrounding area; free parking space available; offers airport pick-ups and drop-offs; laundry services available; and WIFI available at the lodge that enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends, business centers with conference halls, meeting places, and honeymoon packages, etc.
Excellent and comfortable clean beddings, the lodge offers a honeymoon package, and a craft shop is available at the hotel with more African-style gifts like shoes and safari essentials (mentioned but a few).
Volcanoes National Park is the largest and most visited national park found in the northwestern part of Rwanda. The park occupies the total area of 505 square miles of rainforest and surrounded by five of volcanoes in virunga mountains namely ; Karisimbi , Bisoke , Muhabura , Gahinga and Sabinyo and there are two active volcanoes that covers 25 miles apart namely; Mauna loa and Kilavea. Apart from the National Volcanoes Park, Rwanda has different parks, including Nyungwe National Park and Akagera National Park, with different attractions.
Though Rwanda is a small landlocked country, tourism is the fastest and leading activity. The park has different accommodations—budget, mid-range, and luxury—that are convenient and affordable for each tourist’s budget. The lodge was set particularly for tourists visiting the park.

In Kigali, since the capital city of Rwanda is near, there are many places to visit like the genocide, Kimironko market, and many more activities. The best time to track gorillas in volcanoes in Rwanda is in the rainy season, from February to March, July, August, September, October, and mid-December. The gorilla permit in Rwanda is at 1500$. Rwanda contains 3 tribes, including Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa, all unique in their ways, prompting their safari visits while in Rwanda.
