Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is the luxury accommodation found at the highest point of Ngorongoro crater rim. It is just 220km from Arusha a 4-hour drive and 40 minutes by air transport with another 2-hours transfer from the airstrip to the lodge. The lodge is set over a half kilometer above the crater floor and offers amazing views to the caldera.
Ngorongoro crater is found in the Eastern part of Tanzania in Arusha in Ngorongoro conservation area. It covers the total area of 8,292km. The crater is the best place in East Africa with beautiful breathtaking settings. The area contains over 25,000 large animals including 26 black rhinoceros and over 100 number of lions, 7,000 wild beasts, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 eland and 3,000 Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. The park has the big five mammals which include the lion, Buffaloes, elephant, leopards, and rhinos.
There are more different activities to do while in the Park which include; Game viewing in the park where different animals are always migrating looking for food, Cultural visits in the local village, Hiking, Nature walks in the park , Bird watching in the park, Visiting archaeological like Olduvai gorge museum and many other activities . The Park gives a stunning view of the Ngorongoro Crater since it’s the largest caldera in the world. There are more Maasai mara pastoralists in Ngorongoro park . In Ngorongoro Tanzania, there are different categories of hotels ranging from Budget, mid-range, and luxury-accommodation which are friendly and convenient for the guests. Park entrance in Ngorongoro park is 71$ per person and 295$ per vehicle entering the park. June –july and late January and February are the best months to travel to Tanzania for a safari. Ngorongoro crater covers 100 square miles and it is 2-3 million years old.
