Park Entry Fees – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Park Entry Fees;  Bwindi Impenetrable forest is recognized as a world Heritage Site, and the park has diversity species. The park is a habitant to over 130 species of mammals, over 500 species of birds such as Turacos, Hornbills and many more, 230 butterflies’ species, 30 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 20 primate species including Chimpanzees, monkeys, white colobus monkeys and many more. The park is among the diverse forests in East Africa, it has more than 1,000 flower plant species, which includes 140 species of ferns, 170 species of trees.

The area shares high levels of Albertine Rift. The park’s main habitants are the mountain Gorillas which are over 400 species inhabiting the Bwindi forest and half of the worlds’ population of the endangered mountain Gorillas in the world. There are 12 gorillaTfamilies in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.  There are 4 gorilla sectors in Bwindi  these including Rushaga ,Ruhijah, Nkuringo and Buhoma sectors. They are all under the management of Uganda Wildlife Authority.

To see the mountain Gorillas one has to buy a gorilla permit from an authoritised agent who is under the umbrella of Association of Uganda Tour operators.

The permit is an identity that is issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority to you to authorize your entry into the park and access to visit the mountain gorillas. It costs 600USD for foreigners, for non foreign residents 500 USD and East Africa community 250,000 Uganda shillings. The price also helps on the conservation of the Gorilla sectors. Nature walk costs 30 for Residents, 15 for non residents and East African community 10,000.

There are various accommodation availabilities in the area and these include Gorilla haven lodge, gorilla safari lodge, Buhoma community camp, Rushaga gorilla camp, the silverback lodge and many more.

The park entry fee status is categorized  as follows Adults 40 USD  and the park entry fees for non-foreign residents and 20,000  for Ugandan nationalities, children 20 USD,10 USD and 5000 for Ugandan pupils/students Tertiary institutions, Uganda wildlife clubs 3,000,5,000,2000.
