Sasaab Lodge is a mid-range accommodation (4 stars)found in the heart of African bush in the northern frontier district in Kenya close to Buffalo springs in Samburu National Park. The lodge is set on the banks of ewaso nyiro river. The lodge has an attractive and spectacular view of the river, park, distant hill, and surrounding areas. You can be at the lodge either by road or air transport. It takes approximately 350km (6hr drive from Nairobi to the park and 45- 50 minutes flight from Nairobi to close airstrip (sasaab’s airstrip then 10 minutes drive from airstrip to the lodge.

Sasaab lodge consists of 9 well spacious luxury cottages which reflects the local building style of Moroccan and Swahili with modern comfort. Rooms are well decorated and furnished with private en-suite facilities like flushing toilets , hot and cold showers , mosquito nets, satelites, flat screen TVS, hair driers ,air conditioning , private balconies and sitting areas ,you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the distant hills , the park and surrounding areas . Rooms are equipped with excellent and comfortable clean beddings with king and queen sized beds . There are fire places at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors during nights . Rooms are in different categories; single ,double , twin and triple/ family rooms and rooms cost 300$ per night and above ( note that high season rate is different to low season rate.
Samburu national park is among the less-known parks and smallest park found in the northern part near Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya in Samburu country. The park occupies a total area of 165square kilometers and 350 km from Nairobi. Samburu country is found in the former rift valley of Kenya. The park is the home of various animals over 200 mammals like; Giraffes, Buffaloes , Elephants , Big cats, leopards, lions, zebras Warthogs , olive baboons etc and 390 species of birds which include; Sun birds , bee –eaters , sunbirds, Tawny Eagles , Grey headed kingfisher , Yellow-billed hornbill and many more birds. Samburu are sub tribe of the masaai , they are Nilotic people of Northcentral Kenya. They are semi-nomadic pastoralists with herds of cattle , goat, sheep and camel.
