Sekenani Camp | Madai Mara
Sekenani Camp is a mid range accommodation found in the eastern side of the main gate to Masaai mara national park just like six kilometres. It takes approximately four -five hour drive from Nairobi and an 50 minutes to fly from Nairobi to the closest airstrip keekerok . The camp is 6 Km from the airstrip. The camp is built in riverine forest near sekanani river. The camp was set on the land that belongs to 26 masaai families where by those families collect annual rent. The camp is convenient and friendly to guests staying in masaai mara national park with its stunning view of the river ,wildlife and the park.
Sekenani camp is comprised of 15 well designed and pointed tents that reflects local building style with modern comfort. Tents that are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/Bathtubs , mosquito nets, satelites, Flat screen TVs , extinguishers, hair driers , private balconies and sitting areas ,you relax while enjoying the spectacular view of park, and the riverine of sekenani River and surrounding area . Rooms are equipped with comfortable clean bedding containing king and queen sized beds. There are campfires in the veranda that provides warmth to visitors staying at the camp . Rooms are in different categories; single ,double and triple rooms and rooms cost 200$ per night and above ( note that high season rate is different to low season rate.)

Masaai mara national park is among the largest and most visited park in Kenya situated 270km north of Nairobi in Kenya occupying the total area of 1,510 km squared . There are many over 1 million tribes in Kenya ,Masaai are initial and local group of semi –Nomadic people that settled in Kenya and the northern part of Tanzania. Maasai Mara National park is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. The park contains over a million of animals that include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos and 600 species of bird and 60 species of raptors in different colors . Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration from Serengeti national park during July ,August and October .The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek river.
