Virunga Lodge | Volcanoes National Park
Virunga Lodge is a luxury accommodation found in the Northwestern part of Rwanda near volcanoes national park. The lodge is set on the hillside with a beautiful view of the lake Bulera, virunga volcanoes and lake Ruhonda and the surrounding areas. one can be at the lodge by road transport from Kigali international airport which takes approximately 2-3 hours to drive to the park and it takes 40 minutes to fly from Kigali to virunga lodge. The lodge is under volcano safaris that own different lodges in east Africa ; Uganda ,Rwanda, Kenya Etc.
Virunga Lodge is comprised of 10 luxurious and comfortable rooms of which 2 are deluxe and 8 standard rooms that reflects traditional building style with modern comfort . Rooms are well furnished and decorated with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/ bathtubs , mosquito nets , driers , flat screen TV’S, satellites etc with private balconies , sitting areas, verandas, you relax while overlooking the spectacular view of virunga volcanoes and lakes . Rooms have excellent facilities with clean and washed beddings, There are fire places at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors in the nights and coldness. Rooms vary in different sizes and categories like standard and deluxe room with view lake facing ; singles , doubles ,twin , triple /family rooms . Rooms cost 1200$ per person per night and above ,and rate always go high when its peak seasons.

Volcanoes national park is the largest and most visited national park found in the North western part of Rwanda country .The park occupies the total area of 505 square miles of rainforest and surrounded by five of volcanoes in virunga mountains namely; Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabinyo and there are two active volcanoes that covers 25miles apart namely; Mauna loa and Kilavea. Apart from volcanoes national park , Rwanda has different parks include; Nyungwe National Park and Akagera national park with different attractions. Though Rwanda is a small land locked, tourism is the fast and leading activity. The park has different accommodations ; Budget , mid range and luxury that are convenient and affordable for each tourists budget . Virunga lodge was set particularly for tourists visiting the park. The best time to Track gorillas in volcanoes Rwanda is in rainy season is from Feb to March, July, August, September , October and mid December . Gorilla permit in Rwanda is at 1500$. Rwanda contains 3 tribes include; Hutu , Tutsi and Twa all unique in their ways prompting their safari visits while in Rwanda.
