What Are The Gorilla Sectors In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park? Bwindi Impenetrable national park is located in Kanungu district in the Southwestern region of Uganda covering a total surface area of about 321 square kilometers. This national park is famously known because it is a home to over 400 endangered mountain gorilla species and about 19 habituated gorilla groups, which are always available to be trekked. Bwindi national park is also known as a UNESCO World Heritage site and apart from the mountain gorillas, it is also a home to over 348 bird species such as; back bee-eater, Shelley’s crimson wing, dusky twin spot, mountain oriole, regal sunbird, black-billed turaco, yellow-ramped tinker bird, giant kingfisher, handsome spur fowl, red-headed bluebill, African emerald cuckoo, mountain yellow warbler, African green pigeon and many others. more so, tourists exploring within this national park can see many wildlife species because it is also a home to around 120 mammal species such as; buffaloes, golden cats, bush pigs, elephants, duikers, giant forest hogs, black-fronted duikers, civet, yellow backed duikers, clawless otter, numerous bats, side stripped jackal, rodents, golden cats and primate species like; white and black colobus monkeys among others, 100 species of ferns and 220 butterfly species.

Ruhija sector.
Ruhija sector is located within the Eastern region of Bwindi Impenetrable National park and this sector is well known to have around 3 gorilla families which are always available to be trekked such as; Kyaguliro, Bitukura and Oruzogo. However, this Ruhija gorilla sector is also considered as one of the coldest areas within the park, which stands at an elevated area of over 2,350 meters above the sea level. More so, this sector is also a good destination for bird lovers to visit because touring around this area will give them chances to sight see at many wildlife species such as; yellow eyed black flycatcher, yellow streaked greenbul, dusky crimson, hornbills among others.

Nkuringo sector.
The Nkuringo sector is situated within the Southern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park and it has only one gorilla family known as Nkuringo gorilla group being led by a gorilla silverback named Rafiki. Touring around this sector is always interesting hence providing tourists with an exciting gorilla habituation experience because it has around three habituated mountain gorilla groups such as; Bushaho, Kyaguriro, Mukiza, which are always available to be trekked, and they are always seen crossing over from the Rushanga sector.
