2 Days Lake Mburo Safari is a short Uganda safari tour that will interest you with wildlife in one of the most endowed national parks in Uganda. Lake Mburo national park is one of the smallest national parks located in western Uganda in the Mbarara district. On your 2 Days Lake Mburo Safari you will be able to view different vegetation types, various bird species such as saddle-billed stork, black-bellied bustard, African wattled lapwing, brown chested lapwing, grey crested crane animal species such as zebras, giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos, oribi, eland, impala, topi and many others. On your safari in Lake Mburo national park, you will also engage in different activities so as to make your safari enjoyable and interesting.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
- Transfer to Lake Mburo: Depending on your location in Kampala City, our driver-guide will pick you up and brief you about your 2 Days Lake Mburo Safari and then you will start your journey to the park where you will have a stopover in Kayabwe at the equator and later continue the journey via Masaka. On your way, you will have another stopover at Mpambire drum village to see how the local drums are made and proceed to the park for lunch at the lodge.
- Boat Cruise: After lunch, you will drive to the lake for an afternoon boat cruise which starts at 2 pm. During the boat cruise on Lake Mburo you will be cruising near the animals and will you be able to view different animal species along the water banks such as hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, eland, topi zebras, antelopes, otters, buffaloes and water birds such as the pre-historic shoebill stork, king fishers, fish eagles, hammerkop, blue-headed weaver, herons, pelicans among others.
- Evening Game Drive: After the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours, you will have an optional evening game drive in the park where you will be able to view different animals such as zebras, warthogs, topi, elands, buffaloes among others. You can also opt for a night game drive where you will have dinner at the lodge and then go for the night drive which is done in vehicles with spotlights. During the night game drive will get an opportunity to view nocturnal animals such as leopards, spotted hyenas, bush pigs, genetic cats, white tailed mongoose among others.
Accommodation options include Mihingo lodge (luxury) and Eagles nest lodge (mid-range)
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer back to Kampala
- Game Drive: You will wake up early, have breakfast and go for the morning game drive in the park to view the animals waking up from their sleeping places and the nocturnal animals going back to their hideouts. After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and start your journey to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for lunch, view the craft shops, take photos when you are standing on the equator among others.
- Return to Kampala: After lunch, you will continue your journey to Kampala and since it takes 4 hours’ drive you will reach Kampala early evening and your driver-guide will drop you off either at Entebbe international airport or at any place of convenience.
