4 Days Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari will take you to Bwindi impenetrable national park in south western Uganda where you will have an opportunity to spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. During the safari you will also visit Lake Mburo national park where you will enjoy great views of animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, hippos, zebras, leopards, giraffes, elands, topi, warthogs, impalas, oribi, bird species like the rare shoebill stork, marabou stork among others during the game drive and boat cruise.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Lake Mburo national park, depending on your location of the first day of the 4 days safari, our representative will either pick you up from Entebbe international airport or hotel in Kampala, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Mburo national park in western Uganda. It’s a 4 to 5 hour drive to the park and on the way you will have stunning views of drums at Mpambire, stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take photos, buy souvenirs and then proceed the journey to the park. Upon arrival you will continue to check into the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to the landing site for an amazing boat cruise on Lake Mburo. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours you will have incredible views of hippos and crocodiles in water, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes along the shores, view water birds like cormorants, hornbills, bee-eaters, kingfishers, view fishermen fishing among others. After the boat cruise you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will be rewarded with stunning views of animals like giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands, waterbucks, warthogs, oribi, topi among others grazing in the open savannah plains, view the beautiful sunrise, different bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, on the way you will en-route lunch at Igongo cultural centre and then proceed to the park with spectacular views of terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking, after an early breakfast on the third day of the 4 days safari you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people, allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with trails in the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. During trekking you will have great views of forest birds, other primates like l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, views of plant species among others. Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch them feed, breastfeed, play, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home. After the face to face encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 4 days Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver-guide to transfer to Kampala. You will have en-route lunch in Mbarara town and then continue the journey to Kampala where you will reach early evening. Upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
