4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari is an interesting adventure that will take you to the two savannah national parks that is Lake Mburo national park which is one of the smallest national parks and Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda after Murchison falls national park. During the 4 days Uganda safari you will engage in game drives and boat rides which give you an opportunity to view a wide range of animals like elephants, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, giraffes, zebras, elands, waterbucks, predators like lions, leopards, different bird species among others.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe international airport and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Arrival and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, depending on your arrival time at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest and most visited national park in Uganda. The journey takes about 7 hours drive passing via Mubende with a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey with stunning views Rwenzori mountain ranges, tea plantations, beautiful scenery among others. Upon arrival in the park you will go for an evening game drive where you will have great views of animals like elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, giant forest hogs, have views of the sundowner and then proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive/lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise

Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive/lion tracking experience in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to view animals like waterbucks, bushbucks, elephants, buffaloes, topi, warthogs grazing in the open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas before going back to their hiding areas, view different bird species because Queen Elizabeth national park is a home of more than 600 recorded bird species which makes it one of the best birding destinations in Uganda. After the game drive which takes about 3 to 4 hours you will return to the lodge for lunch.

Boat cruise, after lunch you will go for an exciting boat cruise on Kazinga channel a water body that connects lake George and lake Edward. The boat departs at 2: 00pm from Mweya and takes about 2 hours ride offering you great views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes along the shores, large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in water, water birds like hornbills, malachite and pied kingfisher, fish eagles, bee-eaters, cormorants among others. After the boat ride you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth national park to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast on the third day of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Mburo national park which takes about 3 to 4 hours drive. On the way you will have stunning views of Igara tea estate, crater lakes, Kalinzu forest among others and en-route lunch at Igongo cultural centre. After lunch you will continue the journey to the park for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will view water birds, hippos in water, crocodiles basking on the banks, view buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes along the lake shores, beautiful scenery, fishermen preparing the nets for night fishing among others. After the boat cruise you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala

Morning game drive, on the last day of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view animals when they are most active. During the game drive you will follow different game tracks where you will have great wildlife views of animals like zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, buffaloes, warthogs, topi, elands, impala, klipspringer, blue monkeys, different bird species, vegetation types among others. After the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Kampala with en-route lunch at the Equator. After the lunch you will proceed to Kampala and your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your international departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
