Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi national park

Transfer to Bwindi: Depending on your location in Kigali, our driver-guide will pick you up to give you a short briefing about your 2 days gorilla trekking Uganda from Kigali and then transfer to Bwindi national park. On your way, you will have beautiful views of Rwanda hills since it’s called the land of a thousand hill, local people in Rwanda among others. You will cross the Cyanika border in Kisoro and have a stopover for lunch in Kisoro town.
Cultural Tour & Check-in: After lunch, you will proceed with your driver-guide to the Rushaga sector in the southern part of Bwindi national park. If your journey takes about 4 hours and if you reach Bwindi national park early depending on the time you set off, you will go for an evening cultural tour in the local community and after go to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation options are Chameleon lodge (luxury), Ichumbi gorilla lodge (midrange) or Rushaga gorilla camp (budget).

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali

Gorilla Trekking: You will wake up early have breakfast and the driver guide will pick you up from the lodge with your packed lunch and transfer to the briefing point in Rushaga sector where you will be briefed about gorilla trekking expectations. You will be grouped into 8 travelers depending on your interests and physical fitness and at 8:00 am you will start gorilla trekking in the jungle with the park guide who will be giving you information about the gorillas and showing you the trails to follow. Gorilla trekking activity is unpredictable and can either be short or long depending on the location of the gorilla families because mountain gorillas like to move from one place to another in search of food, therefore, gorilla trekking takes about 2 to 6 hours and one hour with the gorilla family once found.
Transfer to Kigali: After trekking the mountain gorillas, your driver-guide will transfer you to Kigali via Cyanika border with a stopover for lunch in Kisoro and will drop you off at a place of your choice in Kigali city
