Silverback Lodge
Silverback gorilla lodge is a luxury accommodation under Marasa found in the Buhoma sector in Bwindi national park in the western part of Uganda in Kanungu. Its just 5 minutes walk from the park Headquarters. You can reach the lodge either by road or air transport. It is approximately an 8-hours drive from Kampala City to Bwindi impenetrable national park by bus and 2-hours flight from Entebbe International Airport to kihihi airstrip. The journey is quite long especially when you traveling by road.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park is found in Kanungu district in the south western part of Uganda. The park covers the total area of 330.8 km squared. Bwindi impenetrable national park is the home of more endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda. This park generates more revenue for Uganda Wildlife Authority amongst other safari parks in Uganda. The park has different accommodation categories i.e. budget, midrange, and luxury accommodation.
There are 19 gorilla families which are habituated. They are found in different 5 sectors namely the Nkuringo sector, Rushaga Sector, Buhoma sector and Ruhijha sectors where gorilla trekking takes place. A gorilla permit in bwindi is at 600$ but it will be at 700$ 2020 July. Uganda holds close to half of their total population, and the majority of them live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, whereas the others are found in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Silver bark gorilla lodge is a luxury lodge one should stay at while in bwindi impenetrable national park in the Buhoma section for activities like Gorilla trekking experience, gorilla habituation experience, Batwa trail, cultural visits, bird watching, nature walks in bwindi forest and many other activities.
Silverback gorilla lodge consists of 12 elegant rooms that are well decorated and furnished. The lodge has luxury rooms with privacy and tranquility whereby each room have en suites private facilities like flushing toilets, mosquito nets and hot running showers. Rooms are well equipped with Satellite, TVs, extinguishers and other facilities of Marasa standards. Rooms have balconies and verandas to relax in while enjoying the flora and fauna around the park . The lodge has a good breathtaking view environment. Excellent and clean beddings. There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors at the lodges. Rooms are in different categories; single, double and triple rooms and rooms cost 300$ per night and above.
