The 14 days Uganda safari takes you to some of the unique national parks in Uganda which will offer you spectacular views of the wildlife and breathtaking experiences on your safari in Uganda. on your 14 days Uganda safari, you will visit Murchison falls national park which is the largest and most visited national park in Uganda, Kibale national park where you will engage in chimpanzee trekking, Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda, Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will trek the endangered mountain gorillas, Lake Mburo national park, visit Ziwa rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking, Lake Bunyonyi which is the second deepest lake in Africa.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and drive to Sheraton hotel in Kampala
Depending on the time of arrival you will be picked from the airport by our diver guide and transferred to Sheraton hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
You will wake up have breakfast at the hotel, check out of the hotel and your driver guide will pick you from the hotel to start the journey to Murchison falls national park which is the largest and most visited national in Uganda. Murchison falls National Park is located in north western part of Uganda. On your way to the park you will pass via Ziwa rhino sanctuary the only destination in Uganda which harbors the endangered rhinos therefore you will have an opportunity of tracking rhinos at the sanctuary.
After rhino tracking, you will continue to Masindi town for lunch where after you will proceed with the journey to Murchison falls national park which takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive. Upon arrival in the park you will drive to the top of the falls where you will have spectacular views of the falls, some animals and then drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
You will wake up, have breakfast at the lodge meet up with your driver guide and transfer for the morning game drive across the savannah vegetation following tracks like Buligi track, Victoria track among others. During the game drive which takes about 4 to 5 hours you will have an opportunity of viewing different wildlife species such as birds, animal species such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, giraffes and warthogs, leopards, Jackson’s heartbeats among others and then drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will drive to Paraa landing site for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. during the boat cruise you will have great views of the waterfall as you cruise meters away from hippos and crocodiles in water and other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes on the river banks, bird species such as the King fisher’s, Bee-eaters, Herons among others. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you can opt for an adventurous top of the falls hike which is charged at an extra cost or cruising back to the landing site. The top of the falls hike is steep and therefore you have to be physically fit.
Top of the falls hike takes about 45 minutes and offers spectacular views of the landscape, River Nile, bird species as you listen to the roars of the water. When you reach on top your driver guide will be waiting for you to transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale national park
You will wake up have breakfast, check out at the lodge and start the journey to Kibale national park. It’s a 7 t0 8 hour journey but filled with great views of the local people, farmlands, traditional homesteads among others. You will have en-route on the way and continue to Kibale national park where you will reach in the evening and upon arrival you will check in at the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk
You will wake up have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations during trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 6 people and allocated a chimpanzee family to trek. You will then and trekking in the jungle with a park guide who will be sharing information about the chimpanzees.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park takes about 2 to 4 hours depending on their location if the chimpanzees and once the chimpanzees have been located, you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat as you learn more about their life style, behaviors, watch them feeding, playing up in the trees as you record videos and take plenty of pictures with a flash less camera.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to Kanyachu Visitors Centre meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will go for nature walk in Bigodi wetland swamp where you will be able to view different bird species, primates, tree species, listen to the bird singing in the trees, feel the cool breeze, breath fresh air among others. After the nature walk you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will wake up in the morning have breakfast and check out of the lodge to meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. On your way you will have great views of the tea plantations, Rwenzori Mountains among others. You will pass via the park where you will spot some animals as you continue to the lodge where you will have lunch.
After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park where you will be able to view different animals such as the elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs. Bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs, bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive to the Katwe crater where you will view the local people extracting rock salt from the lake. You will have an interaction with the local people as they teach you how salt is extracted and how they have earned a living from extracting rock salt. After the Katwe crater you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation options include Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury), Park View Safari Lodge (midrange) or Pumba Safari Lodge (budget).
Day 7: Morning game drive (lion tracking) and afternoon Boat cruise
On your second day, you will wake up early have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kasenyi plains for the morning game drive or lion tracking. During lion tracking you will be with a tracker who will be having a tracking device which tracks lions with radio collars moving around the park to the direction where the lions will be hiding. Once the lions are found you will spend time viewing them at a close range as you monitor and learn more about their behaviors, habits among others which give you unforgettable and lifetime experiences. Lion tracking activity in the park takes about 2 to 3 hours where after you will have a short drive in the park and then drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer for the afternoon boat cruise which is done on Kazinga channel a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. The boat cruise starts at 2:00pm at the landing site near the luxury lodge Mweya safari lodge and takes about 2 hours. Boat cruise is an exciting and adventurous activity on Kazinga channel where you will be able to cruise close to the animals such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos, Nile crocodiles, waterbucks which will be viewed along the water banks and various water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others. After your boat cruise trip you will drive back to your lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will wake up have breakfast and check out of the lodge to meet up with your driver guide and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will pass via Ishasha sector which is located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park for a game drive. During the game drive you will view animal species such as buffaloes, elephants, topi, warthogs, Uganda kobs, hippos, waterbucks among others after the game drive you will have lunch.
After lunch you will have another game drive where you will have an opportunity of viewing the tree climbing lions which will be lying up in the acacia, fig tree branches looking down on the antelopes which will be grazing in the open savannah plains. After the game drive in Ishasha sector you will drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 3 to 4 hours’ drive check in at the lodge have dinner and overnight. Accommodation options in Buhoma Sector are Buhoma Lodge (luxury), Buhoma Community Haven Lodge (midrange) or Buhoma Rest Camp (budget).
Day 9: Gorilla trekking
You will wake up early have breakfast at the lodge and with your packed lunch meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the expectations, rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people to trek each habituated gorilla group. Grouping of individuals is done according to your personal interests, age, physical fitness among others therefore you are advised to communicate to your driver guide so as to get you a gorilla group that is near to trek in case you are not physically fit.
At around 8:00am you will start trekking in the jungle with a park guide who will be sharing information about the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking will take about 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorilla family is located and during trekking you will have great views of the birds, primates like monkeys, vegetation types among others. Once the gorillas are found you will spend one hour with the gorillas in their natural habit learning more about their lifestyle, behaviors, taking photos with flash less camera, recording videos among other.
After a breathtaking and incredible encounter with the gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. You will meet up with your guide and transfer back to the previous lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will wake up have breakfast and check out of the lodge. You will be picked by your driver guide and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake in Africa which harbors about 29 Islands and each Island has a different story behind it that is worth hearing and the journey takes about 2 to 3 hours drive.
Upon arrival you will check in at the lodge and then head for a boat ride in a dugout canoe on the lake where you will view various bird species and visit some Islands on the lake such as the punishment island where pregnant girls were taken to die in isolation. After the boat cruise you will go for lunch at the lodge.
After lunch you will go for an evening community walk where you will interact with the local people around the lake such as the Batwa or pygmies, the Bakiga. You will visit their homesteads, farmlands, market centers and learn more about their ways of life as they entertain you through cultural performances. After the community tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
You will wake up have a relaxed breakfast and check out of the lodge. You will be picked by your driver guide and transfer to Lake Mburo national park. On your way you will pass via Kabale where you will view beautiful landscapes, Ntungamo town, Mbarara town and then continue to Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch.
After lunch you will have a tour at Igongo Cultural Centre where you will visit the museum, traditional houses which are designed using local materials like mud, grass, wood among others, visit the bookshop for the book lovers, craft shops where you can buy souvenirs among others. From Igongo Cultural Centre, you will proceed with the journey to Lake Mburo national park where you will reach in the evening check in at the lodge, dinner and overnight. Accommodation options include Mihingo lodge (luxury) and Eagles nest lodge (mid-range)
Day 12: Game drive and boat cruise
You will wake up have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide for the morning game drive in the park. During the game drive you will be able to spot the animals grazing in the open savannah plains such as the zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elands, topi, impala, waterbucks, nocturnal animals going back to their hide outs, bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will drive to the lake for an afternoon boat cruise which starts at 2pm. During the boat cruise on Lake Mburo you will be cruising near the animals and will you be able to view different animal species along the water banks such as hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, eland, topi zebras, antelopes, otters, buffaloes and water birds such as the pre-historic shoebill stork, king fishers, fish eagles, hammerkop, blue headed weaver, herons, pelicans among others.
After the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours, you will go for optional nature walk with an armed ranger within the park where you will be able to view different vegetation types, animals such as zebras, warthogs, topi, elands, buffaloes, bird species such as brown chested lapwing, black bellied bustard, grey crowned crane, red faced barbet, white winged warbler, African fish eagle, emerald spotted wood among others. During the nature walk, you will enjoy fresh air, cool breeze, relax your mind among others where after you will drive back to the previous lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Morning game drive and transfer back to Kampala
You will wake up early have breakfast check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide for another morning game drive in the park where you will be able to view the animals that you will have missed the previous day. During the game drive you will view the nocturnal animals going back to their hide outs and other animals grazing. After the game drive you will drive out of the park and start your journey to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for lunch where you will also have views of the craft shops, take photos while standing at the equator among others.
After lunch you will continue the journey to Kampala and since it takes 4 hours’ drive, you will reach Kampala early evening and the driver will drop you at the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Transfer to Entebbe airport
you will wake up have a relaxed and depending on the time of your flight your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge and drop you at the airport for your next flight and in case you have an evening flight you will first have a city tour where you can visit the Kabakas palace, museum, taste our local food and then transfer to the airport for your flight.
