Murchison Falls Bamboo Village

Murchison falls bamboo village is a newly built mid-range accommodation situated on 20 acres of beautiful savannah landscape just 2 minutes from the Mubaku Gates of the famous and largest  Murchison falls national park in Uganda.

Bamboo Village is located in a perfect spot with easy access to the entrance of the Uganda safari area of the park, as Murchison Falls National Park is only 10 minutes away from the lodge and a 15-minute drive from River Crossing.

The village is a short drive from Hoima and 7 miles from Pakuba airport. The drive from Kampala city center to the lodge/park takes about 5-6 hours, followed by a 30-minute flight from Entebbe International Airport to the nearby airstrip, and then a 7-mile journey to the lodge, as mentioned above.

Murchison Falls Bamboo Village features over five spacious and comfortable rooms that offer views of the wilderness, reflecting the African traditional building style with grass-thatched roofs and local woods, all in a comfortable proximity.

Rooms are well decorated, elevated off the ground, and furnished with private en suite facilities of clean  Flushing toilets; hot and cold showers,  solar energy available,  wooden chairs and tables, mosquito nets, complementary bottled water, ironing service; and free toiletries, to mention but a few.

Rooms have sitting areas, terraces and wooden balconies that overlook the breathtaking views of the wilderness and wildlife roaming around the villa and surrounding area.

There is a fireplace at the lodge where guests relax in the evenings as they enjoy the sunset and share experiences about the Uganda safaris; not only that, but it also provides warmth during cold evenings. Rooms are well equipped with comfortable clean and washed bedding with queen-sized beds. The villa offers single beds for individuals and double/twin, triple, and family rooming options with different costs ranging from $200 per night and above. In high season, the rate goes slightly higher than in low season.

Activities to do while at the village: Game drive since the park has a wide range of animals like Elephants, zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes, antelopes, impalas, etc., and abundant bird species; you can be able to see most of the animals; Boat cruise at the River Nile; nature walks in the park; bird watching/birding since the park has a wide range of bird species; visiting the local village, especially the karamajong .

Murchison falls national park is the famous, largest, oldest, and most visited park situated in the northeastern parts of Uganda in Amuru. It was formerly called Kabalega national park.  The park stands on the shores of lake Albert  home of scarce shoebills stork  occupying  the total area of 3,840 km².

The park contains over 78 species of mammals, including the Big five animals like; Rhinos, Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes, Impalas, zebras and over 450  bird species like water birds, savannah birds, Albertine endemic birds etc.  The park has different accommodations like;  Budget , mid range and luxury accommodations that are convenient and friendly to guests visiting the park.

There are different activities to do while in the park, including a game drive where you can spot various mammal species, as the park is home to many animals. Boat cruise/Launch cruise along the Nile that gives the exciting panoramic view of the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls enables guests to spot various aquatic animals, such as hippos and crocodiles, along the riverbanks, as well as water birds.

Activities include hiking at the top of the falls, hot air ballooning in the park, chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest, bird watching at the delta due to the park’s many bird species, nature and forest walks in Budongo Forest, and community visits to local villages that encourage cultural experiences, among others.
