Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge
Ngorongoro forest tented camp is a mid-range accommodation situated in the northern part of Ngorongoro national park in Tanzania. The lodge is close to the gates of Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara national park. You can also visit Tarangire national park and lake Eyasi while staying at Ngorongoro forest tented camp just 1 hour and 30 minutes drive. You can be at the lodge by road transport from Arusha International Airport.
Ngorongoro forest tented lodge consists of 15 elegant and comfortable en-suite rooms that are built in traditional African style with Grass thatched roofs and modern comfort. Rooms are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/Bathtubs and some tents have an outdoor shower, mosquito nets, hair driers, and private wooden balconies, verandas, and sitting areas. You can relax while enjoying the stunning view of the Ngorongoro crater and the surrounding area. Rooms are well equipped with Satellite, TVs, extinguishers with comfortable clean beddings and ceiling fans. There are campfires at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors staying at the lodges. Rooms are in different categories; single, double, twin and triple/family rooms and rooms cost 300$ per night and above. Note that in High season the rate goes slightly high than in Low season.

Ngorongoro crater is also among the most visited parks found in the Northern part of Tanzania close to the Ngorongoro conservation area in the great rift valley. It covers the total area of 8,292km and its 3 million years old. The crater is the best place in East Africa with beautiful breathtaking views. There are different attractions in the park which include wildebeest migration from Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro crater, Oldivai Gorge, Salei Plains, and Ol karien Gorge, Variety flora and Fauna, stunning scenery and many more attractions. The park contains short grasses with more high lands and other beautiful volcanoes. The area has over 25,000 large animals including 26 black rhinoceros and over 100 number of lions, 7,000 wild beasts, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 eland and 3,000 Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles.
The park has different animals including the big five mammals of the world lion, Buffaloes, elephant, leopards, Rhinos, zebras, impalas, antelopes, and different bird species. There are more different activities to do while in the Park which include; Game viewing at crater and lake Eyasi viewpoint to different animals migrating, Crater viewing, Cultural visits in the local village, Hiking the Gol Mountains in the remote areas of the park, Crater Rim Nature walks, Bird watching in the park, Visiting archaeological like oldivai gorge museum and many other activities. The Park gives a stunning view of the Ngorongoro Crater since it’s the largest caldera in the world and the surrounding areas. There are more masaai mara pastoralists in Ngorongoro park . its 80$ per person entering Ngorongoro park. June –july and late January and February are the best months to travel in Tanzania for a safari, especially Ngorongoro side.
