Uganda Safari Guides Asssociation

Background of the Uganda safari guides association

The Uganda safari guides association is reflected from the first group for the Uganda tourist drivers association which was established in Uganda around 1995. The tour operator in Uganda failed to work for hand in hand with the Uganda tourist drivers association, which led to the collapse of the Uganda tourist drivers association. The collapse of the Uganda tourist drivers association, gave rise to the new group called the Uganda bird guides club in 1999, which was aiming at bringing all the birding guides together.

However, the breakdown of the Uganda tourist drivers association was a way for the reformation of the guides groups in Uganda. In 2000, the idea of the Uganda safari guides association was enacted, which was then strongly supported by the other members of the existing safari guides groups such as the Uganda bird guides club and others. Currently, the association is headed by Herbert byaruhanga as its president and it is a fully registered company with the registrar of companies in Uganda, it is also a recognized company by the ministry of tourism of Uganda.
