Baker’s Lodge
Baker’s Lodge is a luxury accommodation found in southern banks of River Nile in Murchison falls national park. The lodge is found outside the park. It is just approximately a 5-hour drive (305 km) from Kampala City to the park and 2 hrs flight from Entebbe town to Murchison Falls. You get to the lodge either by road or air transport. The lodge derives its name from the history of the explorer missionary Sir Samuel Baker.
Murchison Falls National Park is the largest and most visited park in Uganda. It is found in Amuru Lolim Northwest Uganda sitting on the shores of Lake Albert where the Victoria Nile River Flows up to Karuma falls. The park is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and it is known to be a well-protected park in Uganda. Murchison falls national park covers the total area of 3,893km squared. The park hosts 77 species of mammals and 451 birds. Park wildlife includes elephants, leopards, Buffaloes, impalas, antelopes Rhinos, zebras, and hippos, and there are chimpanzees in the Kaniyo Pabidi mahogany forest. The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill stork. There are game fish in the cascades of Karuma Falls. Baker’s lodge is comprised of ten spacious and comfortable rooms reflecting local building style with grass-thatched roofs, mosquito nets, and private wooden balconies and sitting areas, you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the river and the park. En-suite bathrooms rooms offer flushing toilet, double vanity, bath tabs/ shower with hot and cold running water. Rooms are well decorated and furnished well equipped with Satellite, TVs, extinguishers and other facilities. Rooms are equipped with comfortable beds. There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors at the lodges. Rooms are in different categories; single, double and triple rooms and rooms cost 300$ per night and above ( note that high season rate is different to low season rate).
